Charity Calendar Competition

Richard Sargent has recently found himself roped into the 'Say Cheese' 2010 Charityboyz calendar (he can be seen in the November photo!). The calendar this year is in the style of a cheeky postcard. Hopewell Studios have donated a copy of The Silent Years DVD, signed by Richard Sargent & Simon Webster, to the Calendar launch party raffle and auction event, which takes place at Chandlers Bar in Chesterfield tomorrow. We will also be running a competition right here to win a calendar and signed DVD, so stay tuned!

Exhibition featuring The Silent Years in Europe
For the last three years The Silent Years has been included as part of a European travelling expedition called Converting Sacred Spaces. The exhibition is currently in Saint Michel en Thierache. DVDs of The Silent Years have just been shipped and will soon be on sale from their shop.

Under the 'Contact Us' section of the website the option has now been added to contact individually either Edward WebsterSimon Webster or Richard Sargent. This is in addition to the general Hopewell Studios 'info' contact option which we were using previously.

'Suspended Animation Limited' phased out
The company founded in 1998 by Simon Webster, Richard Sargent & Nick Case-Leng, specifically to handle VHS tape sales of 'The Silent Years' film, is now officially defunct. Simon and Richard started 'Webster/Sargent Productions' earlier this year in anticipation of the DVD/website sales, so any outstanding invoices for VHS copies will be transferred to the new partnership. All cheques sent to Hopewell Studios for DVDs should be made payable to Webster/Sargent Productions. Paypal payments are unaffected.

'The Silent Years' DVD on sale at Fountains Abbey gift shop
Simon & Richard's animated film was inspired by the ruins at Fountains Abbey, near Ripon in North Yorkshire. The link continued when the original VHS version of 'The Silent Years' went on sale in the gift shop in the late 1990s, and it has sold there ever since. This week we can finally report that visitors to Fountains Abbey will also be able to buy the DVD there.

Richard Sargent's 'Reg 3: Reg Over The Edge' comic added
The final story in the 'Reg' comic trilogy, this graphic novel was written & illustrated by Richard over a long period in the late 1990s; first begun as a project at Leeds Metropolitan University in 1995 and finally completed in 1999. The full story has now been uploaded into Richard's profile page.

Medieval Novice monk from 'The Silent Years' visits the 21st century

He starred as an apprentice Cistercian monk in The Silent Years, set in the 12th century. He recently visited Hopewell Studios to be interviewed for the newly released DVD, but it was never exactly clear to us how he came to be here, and he returned to his medieval abbey shortly afterwards to complete his training....
How did he do that? Well, this exclusive photo seems to answer our questions!

Hopewell Studios launches new website
We have had a static website for a couple of years now, but with the launch of our DVD The Silent Years we thought it was time for a revamp.
We now have an online shop, using Paypal. We have added more portfolios of our individual work, and more will be added over time.
